Maricela Melgar Flores

Maricela Melgar Flores is a Legal Assistant at Wilson Law Group. Maricela is working on a variety of matters that include immediate relative petitions and adjustment of status applications. As a Salvadoran immigrant herself, her passion for immigration law and policy stems from her own experiences and the firsthand struggles she has witnessed in her immigrant community. Her time at the University of St. Thomas as a latino scholar further developed her passion for policy change. This passion was made clearer with her research on humanitarian crises in Latin America and in the Middle East. Maricela is aware of the effect of disparities on immigrants and families.

In addition to Spanish, Maricela speaks a little bit of French and loves connecting with people around the world so she can become more aware of present struggles affecting their communities. She aspires to continue her education in the future and to contribute to changes of policies and social justice for underrepresented communities.
