Tiana Nelson

Biography

Tiana Nelson is a legal assistant at Wilson Law Group. Tiana is a former resident of New York City. Before calling NYC her home, Tiana was born in St. Ann, Jamaica, where she spent the first eight years of her childhood. Having experienced firsthand U.S. immigration processes and procedures, and having made the transition from permanent resident alien to naturalized citizen, she understands that the system is not sympathetic to everyone, especially when language barriers are present. Thus, as a new addition to the Wilson Law Group immigration team, she is enthusiastic about aiding migrants in navigating their own immigration processes and dismantling the barrier that exists between Spanish speakers and English natives.

Prior to joining Wilson Law Group, Tiana worked as a translator for the deputy-director of the Tufts-Skidmore in Spain program and interned at the Comisión Española de Ayuda al Refugiado (CEAR) as well as Conciencia Afro, all of which are located in Madrid, Spain.

When not working, Tiana can be found hiking, skateboarding, participating in athletic dance, reading Spanish literature, and indulging in the latest Netflix series.

Quote that Tiana abides by: Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter. ~ Martin Luther King Jr.

In addition to Spanish and English, Tiana includes Patwa (Patois) in her list of languages.
